Migration wall chart

Posted: 3 August 2006

As interest in global migration grows, the UN Nations Population Division has published a timely wall chart titled 'International Migration 2006'.

The wall chart displays the latest data and information available on international migration and development, covering topics such as size of the migrant stock, net migration, remittances, immigration and emigration policies and ratification status in respect of relevant United Nations instruments. The chart comes on the eve of the High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development at the UN General Assembly on 14 and 15 September 2006. It should therefore meet some of the need for accurate and comparable information on international migration levels, trends and policies.

The wall chart can be downloaded free of charge from the Population Division website, www.unpopulation.org in a format suitable for on-screen viewing.

Hard copies are available for distribution limited to libraries and documentation centres of institutions. The UN particularly welcomes requests from institutions in developing countries. Requests should be addressed by mail or fax on the institution's letterhead to: Director, Population Division/DESA, Room DC2-1950, United Nations, New York, NY 10017 USA; Fax +1-212-963-2147. No e-mail requests please.
